Founded by Paulo Rocha, a lover of traditional cuisine, this establishment quickly won over the taste buds of locals and tourists alike, offering an authentic flavour and a unique experience. With roots deeply connected to Madeira, the barbecue here is made according to traditional methods, using some typical Madeira foods, such as bolo do caco, and top quality meat, seasoned with typical ingredients such as garlic, coarse salt and wine. Rei do Churrasco not only keeps tradition alive, but elevates it with its own master's touch. Since its opening, the restaurant has become a meeting point for families, friends and companies, where you can celebrate birthdays, company get-togethers, Christmas lunches and dinners, among other unique moments, offering a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. The secret to its success lies not only in the quality of the food, but also in the warm service and dedication to providing a true gastronomic journey to the island of Madeira. As well as the famous Madeiran kebab, the menu also features iconic dishes such as bolo do caco with garlic butter and grilled fresh fish, doing justice to Madeira's rich culinary heritage. The space is now run by the second generation of the family, who continue to expand the legacy with the same passion and respect for traditions.
